RHEA plank table
An old classic in a new angle! A solid and rustic plank table with planks turned the other way. The planks are cut in varying widths to create a lively pattern in the surface of the table. Made from reclaimed azobé wood.
According to Greek mythology, Rhea is the daugther of Gaia. Therefor we think it is the perfect name for this unique table where the planks are turned the other way, as it is created from the cutoffs from when we create our classic Gaia plank table.â
This makes the table score extra points on sustainability – as it is not just made from reclaimed wood, but from the leftovers of existing production.
Rhea is made from reclaimed azobé wood from decommissioned Danish harbours. The wood is among the hardest in the world, which makes your plank table extremely hard-wearing and resistant to stains and wear. The table only gets more beautiful with time. As something unique, the planks are placed across, which gives a completely new look to the classic plank table.
Rhea tables are made with our unika wooden legs. The legs are cut from the outer edge of the pillars and therefore include many rustic details, and can include holes after bolts. The legs are carefully chosen to suit the look of the planks. For widths up to 100 cm, the tables are made with a single wooden leg. Wider tables are made with double wooden legs.

Rhea can be made with either a sanded or rustic surface.
The surface finish that we call sanded refers to planks that have been cut from inside the large pillars, where they have been protected. Rustic planks are cut from the outer, weathered layer. Therefore, rustic planks contain more historic details than sanded.
The amount of authentic rustic details in the planks can be defined as small, medium and large. All planks are sanded by hand to preserve as many historic details as possible.
See more information and examples of the different surfaces here.
Production time is approx. 4 weeks.
