The wood is heartwood from one of the hardest types of wood in the world, and thus incredibly durable. Therefor, Rakna does not require any kind of wood treatment and has an expected lifespan of 30+ years.
Rakna is made with a sanded surface. With outdoor exposure to sunlight, the wood’s surface will change over time and become a silver grey colour. See examples of this here.
